Sweet Pea Bijou Mix Dwarf seeds germinate in 2-3 weeks, and the bushy Lathyrus Odoratus plant blooms with very fragrant, large, up to five per stem flowers in a fine color range such as lavender, blue, pink, red and white. Regular removal of spent flowers will encourage further blooms, and the scented flowers of Sweet Pea are irresistible to butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
Sweet Pea Bijou Mix Dwarf is an excellent flowering plant for growing in hanging baskets, containers, pots and garden borders. Lathyrus Odoratus seeds can be planted in Fall for an early spring bloom in USDA zones 8-11. The fast growing and long blooming Sweet Pea Bijou Mix likes to grow in full sun, but in very hot climates, some afternoon shade is advisable for the best performance. This Sweet Pea makes a lovely country bouquet with the sweet scent of honey and orange.
